15 years of Close to my Heart goodness!

March/April Catalog New Product Blog Hop

Welcome to another blog hop!  This one is for all sorts of new product!  As I am sure you know by now, the new book came out at the beginning of the month, and so we have more paper and more stamps, and more fun things to play with!  Today you will get some fun examples of what you can do with all of those fun new things!  Today you may have gotten here via Darlys’ blog, or you may have started here.  It’s perfect either way!  The hop is a circle, so when you are done, you should end up right back where you started!  That being said, let’s get to the pretty stuff, shall we?

I decided to use the Daisy Meadows paper packet, and make a super easy, super cute little gift bag!  This would be perfect for something small, like I have shown for someone, for any reason, really!  This paper is obviously themed for Easter, but there are some other papers in this paper packet that could be used for any number of things!  (plus, we all have paper, right?)

I got the idea and the measurements from Jackie Bolhuis.  It went together so quickly!  This would be the perfect little party gift bag!

I tucked in some Easter grass, some fun pearls and shimmer brushes, and of course some chocolate bunnies!  What would YOU tuck into this adorable little bag?  Leave me a comment below and let me know!  Then, hop on over to Lauren’s blog to see what fun stuff she has for you!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

It’s a Color Challenge with a Midas Touch!

I do love to work with color challenges!  And this week we have a new one!  The challenge is GOLD!  That’s the only ‘given’.  You can mix and match with any other colors that you would like!  I don’t know about you, but this gives me a perfectly good reason to use the Gold Foil Patterns Paper Packet!

So, I will admit, that I didn’t know what exactly I was going to do at first.  I wanted to use the gold foil paper packet and the new Daisy Meadows paper packet.  I didn’t know which of the papers from either packet, so I went and played on Pinterest.  I found the start of a great idea, and went with it!

How beautiful is that paper??  So, when you get the gold foil patterns paper packet, it is white paper with gold foil.  No other colors.  So, I grabbed the water color pencils and added some in!  I didn’t want to use the markers, because those will also color the foil, and if I’m being honest, I didn’t want to have to be that careful!  LOL!!

The sentiment is stamped in peacock ink to match the background paper.  I added two of the tiny pink dots from the Daisy Meadows dots to the right side to create the visual triangle.  This card went together really quickly, even with the coloring!  Join me at 5pm as I make this card over on my FB page!

Gold Foil Pattern Papers

These are the patterns of the paper packet, aren’t they fun?

I encourage you to play along with both H2H in their bi-monthly challenges and also with me in my 52 weeks of Cards challenge!

I would love to hear what you think of this card!  Which of the gold foil patterns is YOUR favorite?

In This Together Blog Hop

Welcome to the “In this together” blog hop!  This hop will be featuring the In This Together paper packet.  You will see some great things with this pack, because it is so much fun!  Today you could have arrived from Kim’s blog, or you may have started here.  Either way, you will get back around to your starting point, as it is a big circle!

I have this super easy, fun fold card for you.  It holds a gift card inside the front sentiment!

I masked the sentiment from one of the stamps in the set, and created this fun sentiment.

You can see it folds open with a space to write here as well as inside the actual card as well!

I hope you like my little card!  I would love it if you left a little comment below before you hopped off to Kristine’s blog!

March SOTM Blog Hop – Winged Masterpiece

Welcome, welcome, welcome!  This month’s Stamp of the month is such a pretty one!  One that you can do so many things with!  Color?  Yup!  Not color? Yup!  With sentiments that cover a whole gambit of occasions!  Today you could have arrived from Katy’s blog, or you could have started here.  Either way, you should end up back where you started!

I honestly didn’t have any idea where to start, originally, with this set.  I didn’t want to cut it out (it has no thin cuts), but didn’t want to leave it blank, either.  I wanted to color it, but have been using my markers a lot recently, so decided to go with watercoloring, but decided to use the inks instead of the watercolor pencils that we carry.

I wanted to go with the colors of the In This Together paper packet.  The purple stripes is actually a zip strip from one of those papers.  I really love how this card turned out!  The little brush strokes outside of the frame, the coloring (even though it isn’t perfect), the colors, and the whole thing!  I hope you like it as well!

I triple layered the frame, to give it some substance on the card front, and I think that helps it pop all that much more!

Thanks again for stopping by!  Hopefully you will leave a little note below before you hop over to Krista’s blog!  Enjoy the rest of the blog hop!

How about a little sketch?

How about a card sketch from CTMH to start the week and month off with?  This is going to be a super fun one!  So, CTMH has put out this sketch on their blog, you may have seen it already.  So, you have the artwork that they have created with it.  We here at H2H decided to have a play with it as well!  Any of the currently available papers are fair game for us when we are working with this.  I cannot wait to see all the different takes on the sketch with the different papers!  I LOVE to see how everyone has their own view on the same thing!

I stuck with the sketch fairly closely.  I did add a background image that was smaller than the card (giving it a frame) and I shortened the little image on the right, because of the scrap that I had available to me)

I used Mink ink for the butterfly, and some gold embossing for the sentiment and the little mini flower on the right.  I think it turned out super cute!

Thanks so much for stopping by!  I hope that you join us on the H2H challenge blog this week!  This sketch makes some fantastic cards!

Doodled Birthday Wishes

We all need birthday cards, because everyone has a birthday!  I was inspired by another consultant who did something similar, so had to give it a try!

I grabbed my Make it from your Heart book, and viola!  These fun cards were born!

I always say, if you are making one, you might as well make two!  And since I was making them in one color, I might as well do a few more!  These really went together very quickly!

I think they are kind of fun, being monochromatic!  I grabbed some of the Blossom papers that read as one color, and went with it!  Add some Lagoon, Nectarine, and Green Apple inks, and you are good to go!

I hope these fun cards inspire you!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Technique Hop – “It’s Faux”

Welcome to the Faux hop!  Hahaha!  It’s the real dealio, but it’s all about the faux!  This month’s technique is all about the faux look.  Stitching, textures, and such.  I am positive that you will get some great ideas from this blog hop!  Today you may have come from Alyson’s blog, or you may have started here.  Either way, it is a circle hop, and you should get back to where you started!  If you get lost along the way, you can check out the list on Melissa’s blog!

Today I wanted to do something a little different than what you might expect to see with the Blossom paper packet.  I was inspired by this card that I found on pinterest.  I just had so much fun making this “messy” card!  And it’s so so so simple!

I used Green Apple, Nectarine, and pewter inks.  I used a few pieces from just one of the B&T papers.  I used a few different stamp sets to make this fun card, I’ll list them below for you.  For the faux stitching, I used a stamp and my paper piercer to add the holes that a sewing machine would have, had it been real stitching.  I think it gives that extra little dimension!  We’ll be making this card tonight for my FB Live at 6pm!  I hope you will join me!

I even did more than my usual on the inside of this card!  I love how the liner pops with all the background!  Make sure to come and watch the live!  (or the replay!)

Thanks so much for hopping along!  I know you will like what Haley has up for you next!  See you next time!

A Lovely Thanks

Happy Friday!  I hope your week has been lovely! (tehehehe)  It has been a fun filled week with the Lovely paper packet, don’t you think?

This card was partly made from leftover pieces from my desk!  The Thanks die cuts were from a card that I was going to do a video on, and life got in the way!  The Kraft paper and white daisy were smaller pieces on my desk as well.  It’s awesome to be able to use other layers to strategically hide things!

I know it’s somewhat hard to see, but there are ballerina stamped dots above and below the blue belle banner.  Add some ballerina liquid pearls, and it just tops off the card!  I did a row of those same dots on the inside of the card.

I hope you have enjoyed all of the projects made with the Lovely Paper Packet this week!  I would love to hear what you have thought of everything!

Thanks for stopping by!

A Lovely Box of Chocolate!

Todays Naught a Card Nor a Layout project is a little-ish box for chocolate!  (or some other goody!)  I found this idea some time back, and decided to make a bit of a change.  (If this is the second time you are seeing this, I apologize!  But this time, it has the photos!)

I love the idea of it opening like a book, so that’s how I started!  My cardstock isn’t as long as her’s is, apparently, so I had to make a few changes.  The ribbon I used is no longer available, but it worked so well with this project!

Once you open the ‘book’, you have a spot to the left that you can add a note.  Then there is a box to open that you can fill with chocolate or candies or whatever you little heart desires!

I had so much fun making this little window scene!!  Instead of foam, I did multiple cuts of the window die cut, and glued them together.

I do love my little coffee set, so I went with that for the front.  Maybe I will include some yummy coffee packs inside!

I hope you love my little project!!  It makes me smile every time I look at it!  (I might have to keep it around for a little bit, just because it makes me so happy!)

If you didn’t already know, I make custom orders for people.  Items like these, cards, frames, and so many more things!  If you have something that you are wanting, please reach out!  I would love to help you!

Thank you so much for supporting me and my small business!  I truly appreciate it!
