Cards made with CTMH Products

Ever get that Vintage Vibe?

This week’s challenge over at H2H is Vintage Vibe, and we have a boatload of products that fall into that! Check out what I made for it!

I started with the Yesterday and Today paper packet, paired it with the Dreams Take Flight stamp and die set, and then added a few more elements! Let’s take a look!

Now, let me say that I was inspired by this card I found on Pinterest. It doesn’t fit the ‘vibe’ of this challenge, but I knew that I could use the plane from the Dreams take Flight set, and make it mine. And I don’t know about you, but I think I totally rocked this one!

I used three different patterns from the Yesterday & Today Paper packet. I used the large spinner die cut from the Card Front Spinner Thin Cuts and the large circle from the Shaker Window & Confetti Thin Cuts. The banner? That came from the Into the Wild Scrapbooking & Die set (which is only available online!)

The plane and banner are stamped in Espresso ink, I stamped and inked the clouds with toffee ink. Now, if only we still had the waxy flax still, that would have been perfect! Alas, we do not. So, I grabbed my mink twine and my Earth brown blend marker, and colored a tiny piece of the twine, and attached it with some mini glue dots!

The circle and banner are popped up with foam tape. The plane is then popped up with some thin foam tape. The clouds being tucked in various places in various depths on the card I think give it an added extra pop!

Now, of course I couldn’t leave the envelope blank! So, I stamped the large cloud on a bit of post it note and cut it out, then stamped the clouds with a slight overlap on the flap of the envelope.

I’ve already said that I really like how this card turned out, and I hope that you do as well! You should totally come over and join in on the challenges! We have a new one each week, and they last until the end of the month, so you have plenty of time to get your entry in!

Isn’t it Punny?

Now, I don’t know about you, but I LOVE puns! And CTMH has come out with a FANTASTIC set of punny stamps! They generally do pretty good with them, but this one, is so much ‘riskier’ than they normally do, and I LOVE it! (Did I mention that I love it yet?) And it’s pretty fantastic that I can show them off AND play in this week’s H2H challenge!

I used the Seas the Day Cardmaking workhop, which means that the stamp set also has dies! AND, to make it even better, it’s beach themed! Now, how could you go wrong with this? I don’t even know! These cards are adorable, the puns are funny, and I can see so many cards being made with this set! (Not just the ones in the workshop!)

I didn’t even do much changing on these cards!

I only added a bit of shading behind a few of the images, to help them pop!

There are some fun, older techniques on these cards, that I forget to use, all the time!

I didn’t even change much on the cutting! Only a smidge to help conserve paper, because I want to make more cards!

And check this out! This is the first of the White Daisy that they want you to cut the die cuts from. It is the exact same size as they have (this is not an adjusted cut) If you count all of the things needed (12 shells, 8 anchors, 4 hearts, 4 crabs, and 4 whales) you can see that I am only short by 4 shells! So, you can either cut into the 2nd sheet of white daisy that they include, or you can find a piece of white daisy from your stash that is large enough to cut 4 shells from!

I am going to do a youtube live on putting these together on Thursday, 3/19! It would be fantastic if you joined me on the video! I know you will LOVE having this workshop! You can find my YouTube channel here.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Make sure you go and see what the other ladies have made for the Punny challenge over at H2H, and you can play along too! The challenges are always open until the end of the month!

Don’t you love pockets?

I know I love pockets, and it stresses me out when I don’t have pockets! (one of my new pairs of jeans don’t have front pockets! WHAT??) Anyway, Danielle found a super cute little pocket box that someone created with dies. We don’t have those dies, so she asked me to create a cricut file for it. So, I did! You can find that file here.

This cute little pocket box/bag thing is adorable! (Even if I do say so myself!) I decided to fit a set of 4 little cards in it! These cards are 3×4 and the envelopes are just slightly larger.

I left the front of the pocket box blank, so it could be reused after the cards are gone (if wanted). The cards themselves are all the same, with the exception of the paper on the front. I used the 2nd largest circle die cut for the vellum, and the banner from the Spruced Up Cardmaking Workshop kit. (I am LOVING all of the uses I have found for these stamps and dies!) I made sure to put a panel of white on the inside of the cards (not photographed), so that a special pen wouldn’t be needed for the notes. The “Way to Go” comes from the Say it in Style stamp set, and I slightly curved the sentiment to fit on the wavy banner.

These cards were SUPER fast to put together! The box is not quite perfect, but it’s close enough! 😉 If for some reason your machine doesn’t score well (like mine) The plain strip is scored in half, length wise. And the piece with the triangles cut out, if you just line up the points of the triangle, and score, you will be good! (You can score between the triangles, however, it will naturally fold at that point. Just make sure to do that before you start gluing things together!

I hope you like this fun project! I would love to see your little pocket box! Now, if you haven’t already been, hop over to Danielle’s blog and see her little pocket box!

It’s time to smile

It’s time for another card from both Danielle and I! Today’s theme is the February SOTM. This stamp set has a bouquet of flowers, some script and some typewriter type sentiments on it. This set is perfect for cards for some ladies in your life! (add an alphabet stamp set, and it would be perfect for ANYONE in your life!)

I found a beautiful card that I wanted to create with this set. The Spruced Up paper pack has a fantastic paper that is a wood grain paper, so I grabbed my lagoon reinker and the medium flat waterbrush along with the All Purpose Mat, and colored the wood grain paper! It turned out great!! Exactly as I wanted it!

I used some of the mink cardstock from the coordinating cardstock pack for the front of the card. I stamped the bouquet with archival black ink three separate times (well, 5, counting the two little bits in the corners). I did some stamp surgery to be able to stamp the “smile” sentiment without the top part. I used a little bit of the wood grain that was the original color as one of the banners. Add a bit of the white and gold ribbon, and this card is finished!

I am in LOVE with how it turned out! I would love to know what you think! After you leave a comment, head over to see what beauty Danielle has for you!

Beautiful, easy Watercoloring!

Hey there, Crafty Friends!

Danielle and I are back with another fun project! Today’s project is a card, but not just any card! Today we are using this card as our inspiration. We wanted to be inspired by the design, the water coloring, and the vellum!

Originally I was going to do a BUNCH of different cards to show off different water color techniques, but I left most of the products for those other techniques at home! ACK! So, I went with the “easy” option! Also called faux watercoloring! To do this, you use your ink pad, a slick surface (I used the All Purpose mat), a brush (I used the medium flat waterbrush, and some water.

Now, the papers on the left side of my cards are both retired. I used a zip strip from Craft On, on the pink card, and the cardboard piece of B&T from Hawthorne on the brown card. My ink colors today were raspberry and toffee.

Ideally you would do this on watercolor paper, however, I also didn’t have any of that with me! (Yes, I forgot a whole bag of items when I left for my crop!) So, I just used some white daisy cardstock. While it did warp some, it didn’t warp too much!) I used the Shaker window and confetti thin cuts to die cut my circle from vellum paper. Then I used two different (retired) embossing folders to emboss the circles. I created two (actually four, but I only used two) versions of “thanks” and cut them with my cricut machine. I used a bit of gold embellishing thread and gold glitter paper on the pink card, to help it pop some more. I added a few black dots from the Black & White dots. and decided I needed a bit more black. So, I grabbed the black watercolor pencil, scribbled a bit on a scrap of paper, added a bit of water with the small round water brush, and smacked it on my scissors to get some splashes of color on the rest of the card front.

I think they look pretty fantastic, even if they don’t look like the one that inspired us! I would love to see the cards you make! So, make some, snap a photo, and share with Danielle and I!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Make sure to hop over to Danielle’s blog to see her card too!

Let’s put a spin on things!

Happy Sunday, everyone!

Today I have a fun spinner card, complete with video! Danielle and I are both doing a “Spinner” card, however, they are both so totally different! Make sure to go over and check out her card, and watch her video showing how she did it!

Today’s card is somewhat simple, decoration wise, but that spinner makes up for it! (I think!)

We both used the January SOTM, Everyday Magic. Such a great set!

I used a number of dies in this card, but that made it super simple to put together!

Back to the Basics a blog hop!

Welcome to the Technique Blog Hop! This month, we are going back to the basics! You will see many different things (and maybe a few versions of the same thing) I know you will see some things that you forgot about, and maybe even a few things that are new to you! I can’t wait to see everyone else’s things, I know you will too! So, you should have gotten here from Krista’s blog, but if not, it’s a circle, and you will get back around to her!

Today I went back to the basics, and let my paper do the talking for me! (at least mostly!) I grabbed two pieces from the newly available Cedar & Pine paper packet, a piece of linen cardstock and a piece of black cardstock! Keeping the design basic was key to all of this!

Let me share the sizes with you!

Black: 4 x 11
Linen: 3 7/8 x 5 3/8 (x2) & 3 3/8 x 1/2
Evergreen B&T: 3 3/4 x 3
Red B&T: 3 3/4 x 3

Super simple! I could easily get 3 cards from these sheets of cardstock!

I used the Say it in Style stamp set for the sentiment. I could totally make this card be for ANY occasion! There are so many great sentiments on this set! You will definitely want to have it in your stash!

I added a bit of the black velvet ribbon to finish it off and give it a nice polished look! You could easily use a piece of black cardstock to get a similar effect, if you don’t have that ribbon yet!

Oh, and just to give you an idea of how ‘back to basics’ this card was . . . . I had TOTALLY forgotten that I was supposed to do this hop! When I signed up I was going to do a different technique, however, when I remembered, I had just over an hour and a half to design, make, photograph, edit, and type up this whole post. Plus wait for my food that I had just ordered and then get home! Just so you know, I did it, and I have a few minutes to spare, even! (so long as everything doesn’t crash when I hit publish! hahahahahhaa!!)

Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope you enjoyed my card with a back to basics card design! Now, leave a bit of love below, and then hop on over to Melissa’s blog to see what she has for you!

Until next time, have some crafty fun!

New Product Blog Hop!

There is a group of ladies that are showing off some of the new goodies that went live at the beginning of the month! If you didn’t start here at my blog, you should have come from Brandi’s blog. Either way, at the end, you will see who to hop along to next! I know you will have a LONG list of things that you are going to want!

Today I have a fun card for you that uses the Hawthorne papers and the new, fun coffee set and thin cuts, called Perk Up!

Can you name all of the new products on this card? I bet you will find something new everywhere!

This card features the new color of the year, Julep! it’s on the cardstock strips in the center (the light side), the ink on the coffee coozy, and the velvet trim under the cup!

I used the stitched oval shape to stamp the sentiment on, and then added some black stickles on there to give a bit of pop! I think it turned out super cute, what about you? Let me know what you think!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Now, hop on over to Kristine’s blog! And make sure to leave love along the hop, we love to know that you have seen our fun creations, and that you like them too!

September SOTM Blog Hop – Random Act of Cardness

Welcome to another SOTM blog hop! It’s been a bit since I have done one! Today you should have arrived from Danielle’s blog. If not, that’s ok, it’s a big circle, and you will get there!

Today I mixed up a couple of stamp sets, just because they are so fun!! I used the Perk Up stamp and thin cuts for everything except the sentiment, and the September Stamp of the Month for the sentiment.

I made a rainbow background using the circle from the Perk Up Stamp set, and stamped in a whole rainbow of colors, including some new ones! Candy Apple, paprika, goldrush, canary, green apple, bluebird, wisteria, and pansy.

I used some vellum for the sentiment, so it wouldn’t completely hide the fun cup that I stamped!

See that black ribbon? Its new too! Its a fun velvet ribbon, that you will love!

I hope that you love the card! I can’t wait to use both of these sets more! And these colors are fantastic!

Thanks for stopping by! Now, hop on over to Michelle’s blog

See you guys again soon!!

From Me to You

Welcome to another challenge from H2H Challenge blog! This is the last challenge of the month, and next week/month, you will be seeing new products available with CTMH, and I can’t wait to show you! This week is all about “From me to you” . . . which screams gift giving, right?

So, for this, I thought it would be perfect to create a card box to gift a set of cards to someone. I decided to go with the True Love Paper Packet, as I do love the colors in it! One of the ladies that I watch on Youtube quite frequently, is Sam Pootles, and she has a knack for making boxes. So, she was the first place I went! She has MANY boxes (many!) along with the tutorials for them. I found a couple of boxes for some smaller cards, but I wanted to make something to fit standard A2 sized cards (that means 4 1/4 x 5 1/2). So, I used her plan, figured out what sizes I needed, cut a test one, made some adjustments, and then came up with this fantastic little box!

This box holds 5 cards and envelopes perfectly. It is just one inch deep, so it wouldn’t hold a ton of cards, but you could easily make it deeper to hold more, should you want.

I did use a magnet to hold the box closed (since we no longer have our hook and loop dots!), and I couldn’t be more happy with it! I tied some white ribbon around the front flap, and it was just what it needed! I could add a sentiment onto the front of this box as well, however, I think it is just perfect like it is!

I do have the front, back, top, and insides covered with B&T paper, however chose to leave the side edges and inside top without the extra paper. Doing it that way allowed for the cardstock of the box to show through a bit more, which I really liked.

I hope you like the box, and the cards that I have inside! Let me know what you think!

Would you like to make one for yourself? I did a FB live Sunday video on how to do it! You could go and take a look, and make your own box!

Thanks for stopping by! Why don’t you come join us over at H2H with one of the weekly challenges? They are great fun, and give great inspiration!
