I Love Us

This week’s challenge over at Heart 2 Heart Challenges is “I Heart Us”. Now, you can take that, as always, in whatever fashion that you want. You can use the paper pack with the same name, or the photos that move your heart.

Today I have a fun two page spread for you, but it isn’t your traditional size that you see me make, they are 6×8 pages perfect for the Everyday Life albums!

I took the pattern 6 from the Make it from your Heart volume 1 book. Those patterns are for 12×12 pages, so I had to do some figuring, but I did, and made it work for the 6×8 pages!

First I started with some mink cardstock cut to 6×8, then I made some masks with a couple of clouds, and did some white ink splatter around the edges of the pages with my water brush. Next I used the negative of those clouds to be able to sponge some pebble and charcoal inks onto the cardstock to create the darker clouds. I cut the title from the cut apart page from the I heart us paper pack, as well as the strips of paper.

I used some foam tape to pop up the title and the clouds. Sparkles and Bitty Sparkles make some fun ‘rain’ on the left side of the left page.

I created a cut file for you to use, if you have the Artistry cartridge, you will be able to recreate this page in no time!

You can find the file here.

Mini is Marvelous – CTMH Technique Blog Hop

Welcome to the Mini is Marvelous blog hop! Today you are going to get to see some fun mini albums that CTMH offers! Today you should have arrived from Darlys’ blog, if not, that is ok, it’s a circle, and you will get back to her!

Today I am going to show you the Kitchen Traditions album. This is a fun little album, and it is TOTALLY ready for your photos and your recipes!

Now, you can get all of these things separately, but you can get them in a bundle too! The bundle includes the Kitchen Traditions Recipe Kit (60 – 4 x 6 cards, 6 – 6 x 8 divider pages, 2 sticker sheets), Everyday Life Album in Bashful, and the My Acrylix Kitchen Traditions stamp set. You get all of this for just $59.95!

This is a close up of the divider pages and some additional cards that can be used for more details or photos.

This is the stamp set and the actual recipe cards.

These are the stickers. Aren’t they cute? Some fun decorating stickers and some tabs for dividers!

This photo is showing the back side of the divider page, a recipe card, and a fun/detail card.

Here you can see the back side of the recipe and fun cards, and the front side of the divider.

Now, you don’t see any photos or recipes in mine, I’m actually thinking about taking it to the family reunion this summer, and asking people for their favorite recipe of Grandma Olive’s, and then make the book into one of the raffle items! I know the family would LOVE that! Especially if I could get some photos to go with them!

Thanks so much for stopping by! If you like this kit, it is only available through the summer, so you will want to move quickly, as they are only while supplies last!

Now you are off to Wendy’s blog!

Have a great crafty day!

Seasonal Expressions 2 Blog Hop

Welcome to the Seasonal Expressions 2 Blog hop! This hop is to show off some of the new products in the new little book! I am LOVING it, and I am certain that you will as well! Today you should have arrived from Brenda’s Blog. If not, that’s ok, as it’s a big circle, so you will get there!

Today I have a super fun little mini album for you! I had so much fun putting this together! I just kept adding and adding and adding to it! If you have followed me for any amount of time, you know that I like to use our products in ways that most people don’t. Today, I didn’t use chipboard for the book, but multiple layers of our cardstock and liquid glass. You would never know, if I didn’t tell you, that there isn’t actually chipboard in this book!

The pages of this mini album are made out of envelopes from the value pack. I also used the card bases from the value pack as some of the flip pages. Look at how chunky this little thing is! I just love it!

I used the Fresh Air paper pack for this mini. I also included sheets of cardstock from Fresh Air Coordinating Cardstock pack. You will also see some of the New England Ivy Burlap Ribbon and the Fresh Air Compliments.

While this mini won’t fit full 4×6 photos, the photos could still be fairly large. There are so many flips and flaps in this little mini album!! Take a look at the video to see the whole thing!

Want to see all of the little bits and pieces? Check out the video!

Thanks again for stopping by! Next you will hop on over to Wendy’s blog. I’m certain that she will have some fun stuff for you too!

Weekly Mini Album | Week 2

Hi All!!

Remember last Sunday when I showed you the title page for my mini album? Well, I have the next week’s spread for you!

My thought process is, I will put all of my photos that I have taken over the week into the book. However, that isn’t always going to happen . . . I took a few extra pics this week! LOL!! You can see that I added a 3×4 flip flap to one of the photo spots!

I captioned the photos in Photoshop using the Umbrella font.

On the 2nd page, I wanted to use a 4×6 photo of the Gorge that I took, and had another picture of the “snowstorm” that we got, and needed journaling too, so those all went on the same page.

I had fun this week, and my family had fun this week, so that means it was a good week!

I hope your week has been great, and that next week is just as good or better!

Until tomorrow!

New Year, New Album!

Happy New Year! I hope you all celebrated safely last night! I stayed in and watched movies while hubby was out Uber driving. He called me between rides to share stories about the passengers that he had. And it was good that they all took Uber, as they definitely should NOT have been driving.

Sundays will be focused on a mini scrapbook series. I will show you different layouts that I have done for my black and white striped mini album, that cover what has happened during the week. It won’t have every photo that I take, but will have a few, for sure! Each week will have some journaling, at least to outline the things that happened during the week. There will be just plain ol’ average weeks, where we may not have anything exciting happen, but that is part of life too, right? Just the everyday stuff between the “special events”. But, those days are important too. They seem to go fast, because as we age, we don’t have the “firsts” like we did when we were young. (this was a discussion that hubby and I and a few peeps were talking about just a few days ago) So, we need to celebrate the every day, too!

Now, it’s the first, so there aren’t a whole lot of things that happened this week (of 2017), so today I am just showing a few pics of how I decided to do the title page. It was a combination of ideas that I have seen on Pinterest.

Here are the pieces before I put them in the page protector (to help avoid glare). I used one of the woodgrain papers from the Rustic Home Fundamentals paired with Black cardstock, and some retired gold glitter paper. (yes, we still have gold, but this was one of the other colors in the old 3 color packs)

I used my cricut explore to cut the numbers and words. I love being able to use the fonts that I have on my laptop! (especially since I seem to hoard them!)

This is what it looks like when it’s in the page protector. The page is 6×8, and has four slots that are 3×4. I think that it turned out great!

And here you can see it is in my mini album! I will have the next section for you next Sunday!

So, the new year brings many new things, like the Seasonal Expressions book, which goes live today! LOTS of fun new things in there! I’m going to share the papers below, but you can go to the site and check out all the new stuff in the shop!
