15 years of Close to my Heart goodness!

August Stamp of the Month

Welcome to the August Stamp of the Month Blog Hop! There are nearly 60 consultants in this hop, showing off some wonderful creations! You should be coming from Judy’s blog, if so, you are on the right track! If not, that’s ok too, it’s a big round circle! If you would like, you can see the whole list of hoppers here.

This stamp set is fun! It’s already pre-distressed for you, and gives some fantastic texture to your images! Here you can see the artwork that the Art Department at Corporate came up with. Super fun stuff!

You can see on the lagoon cardstock, they used lagoon ink, so it would stand out some, but not as much as black would, and they made their own B&T paper with it. On the Card, they used a yellow (or possibly versamark) on the yellow to have just a bit of design, so it isn’t completely blank. Then, on the Display Album, they used the corners on just 2 of the corners of the white panel. Those corner stamps just add to the clusters that they have created.

I was looking through one of the many magazines that I have, and found a card that had a fun flourish with ribbon and flowers and I really liked it! So, I decided to recreate it with this stamp set!

Everything on this card is brand new product! (with the exception of the White Daisy Cardstock). You have the New Slate Ink, New Slate dotted ribbon, New paper flowers, and New Black & Grey sparkles!

I used just one stamp of this stamp set on this card, but managed to make it look so different! This will be a fun stamp to use!

Your next stop in the blog hop is at Maria’s Blog. Make sure to go and check out her blog, and everyone else’s too!

Have you thought about becoming a consultant in the past? Well, now would be the PERFECT time to do that! With this new book, Close to my Heart has created a new consultant kit, and LOWERED the price! You can now become a new consultant for just $49! Take a look at what you get for that $49!

I am loving that Avonlea paper! (my first workshops will be using that paper!) AND! That isn’t all! We got these fabulous bags at Convention, with our new Idea Book and some other yummy stuffs! Close to my Heart has decided that they are going to give them away FREE! Consultants that sign up in August will receive one of these bags with their New Consultant Kit! (while supplies last, of course!)

This bag is water proof, has a shoulder strap, two straps to be able to carry it like a back pack, a large inside pocket that holds LOTS of papers! (more than 90 layouts! . . . ask me how I know that one!), two side pockets, and a front pocket as well. This bag has a retail value of $45 all by itself! And, since you weren’t at convention, the only way you can get it is to sign up to be a new consultant! Let me know if you are interested! I would love to have you join my team!

Happy Crafting!

Thanks & Goodbye

It’s been a busy month, and it’s not over yet! Senior Graduation, all night party, all the grad parties to put on and attend, end of school for the other kiddos for the year, plus all of the general everyday stuff . . . makes for a busy month! Anam over at twisted sketches has been so wonderful! She puts out some wonderful sketches for both cards and layouts! I always enjoy using them! After3 years of doing sketches, she has had to make the difficult decision to close Twisted Sketches. She will be leaving the blog up, and has even offered the sketches as a pdf download for you!

This last twist was ‘thanks’. What a fitting twist, don’t you think?

I used the Stella paper pack for my card, because I just love the lagoon colors! I used the AP cartridge to cut out the background mat. It kind of looks like a cloud behind the letters!

I used our pre embossed letters, and inked them with lagoon ink, so that they matched my card perfectly! Add some punched cardstock and some lace that was in a box, and you get this fabulous card!

Thanks so much Anam, for allowing me to be on your design team! I’ve had so much fun in the process!! I wish you much luck and good health!

Cruisin’ Workshop ~ Room still available

{Sample of one of the pages we will make in the workshop}

My Cruisin’ Workshop still has room for a few more people! I would love to have you come (even if you must show up a bit late!) and join us in making this fantastic workshop!

Perfect for adding to your scrapbook, or creating a whole album with these pages, as a gift for someone! (Father’s day is coming up soon!) You will be making 14 pages with room for 60 photos! All pieces will be pre cut and ready for you to assemble! All you need to do is bring glue and photos, and be ready to add journaling! This project is glue intensive, I used over 36 yards of tape/glue!! So, if you don’t have any, let me know, and I can get that ordered for you as well!

To make sure that your order arrives early enough for me to be able to pre-cut it, you will need to order & pre-pay by Sunday! To order, just click here and select which of the two options you would like to get!

As an added bonus, anyone that pre-pays and comes on Friday, will receive the supplies to make 2 Father’s Day cards, at no additional cost! So, come on out and join us on Friday, June 15th at 7pm!

Hope to see you there!

Happy Anniversary!

Today, 3 years ago, I signed up to be a consultant with Close to my Heart. I couldn’t wait for my box to get here with all the fun stuff! I have had a wonderful time being a consultant. Just recently I was able to develop a fantastic workshop using the Cruisin’ papers! It is 7 two page layouts, with space for 60+ photos!

So, to celebrate my 3 years, I am having a bit of a sale! Get $3 off any $30 order or $5 off the Cruisin workshop* that will be held on June 15th! Let me know if you want to take advantage of this fun sale!

Here is a sample of one of the page sets. This is page set 3. As you can see, it has spots for 9 photos. If you wanted to add a few more, there is a spot that fits the flip flaps perfectly!

May Stamp of the Month Blog Hop

Welcome to the May Stamp of the Month blog hop! There are more than 60 ladies participating in this blog hop, so make sure to make your rounds! You should have arrived here from Heather’s blog. If you ever get lost along the way, you can find the complete list of bloggers here.

Today I have 2 cards to share with you! And, believe it or not, both of these cards were made entirely from scraps! (well, minus the ribbon, that was straight off the spool!)

First I have this fun black/white/red version for you. Such a simple card, but I think it makes quite the little statement, don’t you?

I just stamped the largest image off the corner to give it a bit of a graphic look, added the red scraps, and attached to the card. The size of the card is 4 1/4 square.

The second card I again used the off the edge stamping to make these fun borders. I then added the ribbon, and cut out the flower. Then I added the ink for the flower (yeah, I know, that’s backwards), and added a fun popped center!

What do you think?

Next you are off to Karen’s blog! Have fun hopping along!

Art Philosophy Blog hop with Twisted Sketches

Welcome to Twisted Sketches Saturday and Art Philosophy Blog Hop Day!

I figured these are both so awesome, that I would combine them together! Twisted Sketches is a fantastic sketch challenge site, with a new card sketch every Saturday and a new layout sketch every Wednesday! LOTS of beautiful things on that blog every week!!

For the blog hop, you should have come from Wendy’s blog.

Today I combined some Lucy and some Footloose papers to make this fun baby shower card!

This is the inside of my little card. You can see the shape that I cut out with my AP cartridge, and the stamp that it fits perfectly!

To make this fun border under the zip strip, I actually used a few of the same shape to make the border! Then tied some of our baker’s twine around it.

And here is a close up shot of the new Keepsake felt alphabet stickers. They were so fun to use!

Here are some other fun things I have made with the Art Philosophy Cartridge! (Such a handy little thing!) Each photo will take you to the blog post with more photos.

Next you should be heading over to Gloria’s blog to enjoy her fun stuff! If you happen to get lost along the way, below is a list of all of the blog hop participants!

Dotty for you Blog Hop!

Welcome to the CTMH Dotty for you Blog hop! Have you seen this fabulous paper? It is so fun and funky and fresh! And polka dots!! Who doesn’t love polka dots!?!

For today’s blog hop, you should be coming from Sheri’s blog. Didn’t she have some cute stuff?

I have 2 sets of cards for you today! The first is a fun little birthday card using one of the plaid/striped papers and some yellow polka dots.

Next I have some cards that you will see again shortly . . . I am going to add something to them still, but I thought they looked really cute as they are . . . kind of simple, perfect for notes of any kind!

Thanks for stopping by to see my cards! I hope you liked them, and that they gave you some creative ideas! Next you are off to Misty’s blog for some more wonderfully creative ideas!

I’ll be having more Dotty for you ideas the next few weeks, because this special runs from tomorrow through May 31st! This wonderful package comes with 24 sheets of cardstock, 2 of each pattern. It is yours for only $5 with any $35 order! Contact me to place your order!

Happy Birthday!

There are a couple of birthdays happening this week! My nephew Aiden turned 2 on the 10th, and Twisted Sketches turns two today! What a great combo!

Twisted Sketches is a great challenge site that has both cards and scrapbook challenges each week. And, Anam puts a great twist on each week’s sketch! This week’s challenge was, of course “2”, to represent TS’s second birthday!

So, I thought I would make a card for them both!

I used Close to my Heart’s fabulous Footloose papers and some luscious bakers twine too! I used a number of techniques on this card, and had so much fun making it!

One of the great things about clear stamps, is that you can cut them apart to use them to create different images/sentiments!

Why not head over to the Twisted Sketches blog to see what all the other wonderful ladies made this week!

Happy Crafting!
