Rock the block video!

So, Close to my Heart puts out some fabulous videos on products, and they put together this great little video about the Rock the Block promotion that is going on. Take a look!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZcmF3kaR0VE&feature=player_embedded

As Kristine says in the video, the blocks will sell for $14.95 by themselves in the new book. And you can get the E sized stamp set and the blocks for just $15 when you place an order of $25 or more. Make sure to place your order by January 31st to be able to take advantage of this!

The stamp set is so fun, even without the blocks! However, that is the ONLY way to get it! So take advantage of this fantastic deal!

Have a crafty day!

May you have

a happy and prosperous new year!

This year, I will have multiple class and workshop dates per month, for cards, scrapbooks, kids clubs, and more! There will be a retreat at the beach this summer, so keep your eyes open for that one! (there will be LOTS of good stuff with that one!)

My current schedule is:

January 14: Mighty Minions Class
January 16: Gaggle Girls (Scrapbooking)
January 20th: UFO Night (Un-Finished Objects)
January 21st: Teen Club
January 27th: Flight Club (Cards)

February 4th: Kids’ Class Valentines

These are currently all West Side dates, but will be adding East Side dates soon!

Last chance for December SOTM!

I wanted to share a couple of cards with you that I made with the December Stamp of the Month, and the Rock the Block stamp set.

First, I made a card that is great for Valentines day, using the Mojo Monday sketch.

I used the fun Roxie kit, the kraft 6×6 die cut cards, with the striped chocolate ribbon.

You have to do the inside of the card, to make them look finished! So, I enlisted the help of my expression machine and the Art Philosophy Cartridge! Both of the images on the inside are from the December SOTM, and both are on the AP cartridge too!

Then, I decided that I needed something that wasn’t so pink and girlie, to be able to give to the guys. (not that *I* have multiple guys, but to show YOU something different!)

So, I started with the 6×6 Kraft card base again, and cut it down some. I am LOVING the corner stamp that is in the rock the block stamp set! I stamped it and the circles and the canvas badge in Desert Sand ink.

I made some photo corners, so that a 3×5 photo can be put inside, if you wanted!

I used one of our canvas badges to keep it closed, and stamped it with some cocoa ink. The great thing about this, is the stamp is actually a bunch of hearts in a circle, but with the size of the badge, it came out looking like a fun starburst!

On the front flap, and the inside of the card, I stamped the diamond mesh stamp in bamboo ink. I didn’t want it to stand out too much, just to give it that extra little oomph! (I think it worked pretty good!)

Remember, the last day to get the December SOTM is Saturday, December 31st! Let me know if you would like to order it, or go ahead and shop in my online store!

The Rock the Block stamp set is available until January 31st. It’s a MUST HAVE! The stamp set is a full E sized set, that normally retails for $29.95, and the blocks are a preview of what will be in the new idea books. (they are going to cost $14.99 by themselves) The stamp set is NOT available in the IB, so you will want to make sure to get that before the end of January!

Thanks for visiting!

Last Chance call!

This Saturday is the fundraiser for the Ridgefield High School’s Grad night party. This party is an all night party for the kids to go to with no drugs and alcohol, and will be a safe place for them to send off their high school career! I know they will have a blast! Please come support them!

The fundraiser is an open crop (if you would like) plus, your registration gets you 2 project kits. These kits will have all of your paper cut to size, and ready for you to assemble. The first project is a decorated box with a mini album inside. It is perfect for displaying in your home or to give as a gift to a loved one.

(sorry, this box is missing the snowflakes and sparkles that will be on the top!)

The album has spots for 10 photos

The second kit gives you the pieces for 5 cards and envelopes

The cost for the open crop and project kits is $35. The retail value of the kits are $35, and the grad night will receive $20 for each registration. I need all registrations by Friday, so that I can make sure to have your packet ready for you to craft with on Saturday!

I do hope to see you there! Let’s make this a great event for the Grad Night!

~Michelle

{glue and foam dots are not included in the price. You will need to bring your own, or purchase them through me. Just let me know if you would like to add them to your registration}

I want my mummy!

I’ve wanted to make one of these cards since I first saw them, but just never have! Then, my friend Heather wanted some fun invites for a movie night that she was going to have, and she thought these would be perfect for the kids! They are super easy to make, and so so fun!!

Isn’t he cute?

Thanks for visiting!! Be crafty this weekend!

Coming soon: 16 card Christmas card workshop, Open Crop for RHS Grad Night fundraiser, Alki PTSA fundraiser

Supplies used all CTMH (except the eraser on the pencil I used for the eyes!):

RHS Grad Night Fundraiser ~ Open Crop

As many of you know, I have a Senior this year! I am helping with the fundraising for that fun grad night party, and it should be oh, so very much fun! This particular fundraiser, I am sponsoring! It will be great fun, so I do hope that you will join us!

What: Open Crop
When: Saturday, November 19th
Where: Ridgefield High School Commons
Time: 10am to 4 pm
Why: To help raise funds for the 2012 Grad Night Party
Who: You and your friends!
Cost: $35 per person

What is included in the registration fee?

You will receive 4-8 feet of table space, and 2 project kits that are ready for you to complete!  You will have time to craft on those projects, or bring something of yours that you haven’t finished yet!  These projects will be fun to use, or that perfect little gift for someone!

This fundraiser is suited to people of all crafty levels!  You do not have to be a seasoned crafter to enjoy these projects!  There will be full instruction on how to put these fun projects together, and people to ask questions if you get stuck!

What do I need to bring?

You will only need to bring yourself and some adhesive!  Don’t have adhesive, or don’t want to figure out where to get it?  Let me know, and I can add it on to your kit (which will give the group just a bit more too!)  If you are wanting to do other crafting as well, you will need to bring whatever it is you will be working on!

How do I register?

Contact Michelle Johns at michelle@myflightsoffancy.com by November 1st to register for this fundraiser.

I do hope that I will see you (and some of your friends) there!  Are you too far away to come?  But want to support us anyway?  Let me know, and I can arrange to have the project kits sent to you!

The spooks are coming!

Halloween is coming near! And we have a fun paper pack for you to play with for invites or fun scrapbook pages! The Mischief paper pack has some great papers, but they don’t all have to be “Halloween”! Today’s card was made for a friend who is going to use them as invites! I couldn’t get any decent photos of it open, but the witch comes up from under the brads, and the bottom flap opens. The invite info will be on a paper that is folded, on the inside!

This card/invite was so fun to make!

Until Next time!
