Art Philosophy Blog Hop!

Welcome to our Autumn Art Philosophy Blog Hop!  Each month we are showcasing our amazing Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge which can be purchased exclusively through a Close to My Heart Independent Consultant {like me!}.

It’s the time of year where leaves are changing colors, temperatures are dropping, the days are shorter, and the holidays are quickly approaching. This month we will be featuring projects with an Autumn theme made using the Art  Philosophy Cricut cartridge!

If you just happened to come to this blog, you should start at the beginning at Lucy’s blog – Love 2 Create. If you came here from Ginger’s Blog, then you’re in the right place!

My project is this fun wine tag! I know many people will take a bottle of wine to the hostess of the party, and what a cute way to ‘pretty it up’!

I used the door hanger that can be found on page 25 of the Art Philosophy Cartridge. I used Chocolate Cardstock for the hanger and the bottom part of the acorns. I did have to cut the hole a little bit bigger with my craft knife, so that it would fit a bit better! I used Kraft cardstock for the tops of my acorns, and Autumn Terracotta for the square on the front and the card on the inside!

All of these items can be found on the Art Philosophy cartridge! So many fun things!

I am the last stop in this hop, but if you joined in the middle, you can continue to the start, with Lucy’s blog – Love 2 Create.

Here’s the entire blog hop lineup in case you “fall” off the path:

National Stamping Month

There are some great consultants doing a fabulous blog hop with a new stamp set that you can get starting August 15th for National Stamping Month. You should have arrived here from Misty’s blog This stamp set is another ‘Double D’ set, where you get 2 D sized stamp sets in one envelope. This stamp set is fantastic, and would work WONDERFULLY for a ‘project life’ type project!

{click image for better view}

Unfortunately, I didn’t get my stamp set yet, to be able to make something cute for you. So, instead, what I have done is put together a little kit for you to consider! Some of these items are on the ‘while supplies last’ section of my shopping page, so you will want to hurry to be able to take advantage of these great prices!

The Quick Pic Album is on the While supplies last tab, you can get cranberry, chocolate (linked), or outdoor denim. The photo pockets come 10 pages to a package. You will need to purchase a total of 3 packages (you will use just less than that). Add on your favorite paper pack, and you have just the right amount to get your new stamp set for just an additional $5! You will have one page (side) per week for your project life! And with the few extra pages, you will have a few spots to add extra photos for special events, or just extra busy weeks!

Next in the blog hop is Julia! So, hop on over to her blog and see what cuteness she has for you!

Happy Hopping!

New Product Blog Hop

Hey everyone!

As you know by now, the new idea book went live on August 1st! There are so many fun new things in this book! I am SUPER excited about the whole thing!! We have a great group of consultants doing this fabulous blog hop! You should have arrived here from Wendy’s Blog! (man, oh man, I have to follow Wendy? Her stuff is fantabulous!) 🙂

So, I thought I would share half of the make and take project that everyone will be completing when they come to my Open House / Customer Appreciation nights! We will be making 4 little cards and a little carry bag to put them in. Aren’t these cards adorable?

They are made with the new Avonlea papers, Chocolate and Slate cardstock, and one of the three stamp sets that come with the brand new Artiste cartridge! Now, the bubble shapes are also on the cartridge, however, I fussy cut them, because it has been so hot and muggy and yucky here, I didn’t want to make the effort to pull my cricut out of my truck (from a previous meeting that I had taken it to). So, I just stamped and cut them the old fashioned way!

I would love to have you come visit with me at one of my three Customer Appreciation nights! They are the 10th & 11th in Vancouver, and the 18th in Gladstone! You can find them both on my Facebook page.

Next you will be off to visit Pamela’s blog! She has a super cute waterfall card to show you!

Have a super crafty day! (and stay cool!)

August Stamp of the Month

Welcome to the August Stamp of the Month Blog Hop! There are nearly 60 consultants in this hop, showing off some wonderful creations! You should be coming from Judy’s blog, if so, you are on the right track! If not, that’s ok too, it’s a big round circle! If you would like, you can see the whole list of hoppers here.

This stamp set is fun! It’s already pre-distressed for you, and gives some fantastic texture to your images! Here you can see the artwork that the Art Department at Corporate came up with. Super fun stuff!

You can see on the lagoon cardstock, they used lagoon ink, so it would stand out some, but not as much as black would, and they made their own B&T paper with it. On the Card, they used a yellow (or possibly versamark) on the yellow to have just a bit of design, so it isn’t completely blank. Then, on the Display Album, they used the corners on just 2 of the corners of the white panel. Those corner stamps just add to the clusters that they have created.

I was looking through one of the many magazines that I have, and found a card that had a fun flourish with ribbon and flowers and I really liked it! So, I decided to recreate it with this stamp set!

Everything on this card is brand new product! (with the exception of the White Daisy Cardstock). You have the New Slate Ink, New Slate dotted ribbon, New paper flowers, and New Black & Grey sparkles!

I used just one stamp of this stamp set on this card, but managed to make it look so different! This will be a fun stamp to use!

Your next stop in the blog hop is at Maria’s Blog. Make sure to go and check out her blog, and everyone else’s too!

Have you thought about becoming a consultant in the past? Well, now would be the PERFECT time to do that! With this new book, Close to my Heart has created a new consultant kit, and LOWERED the price! You can now become a new consultant for just $49! Take a look at what you get for that $49!

I am loving that Avonlea paper! (my first workshops will be using that paper!) AND! That isn’t all! We got these fabulous bags at Convention, with our new Idea Book and some other yummy stuffs! Close to my Heart has decided that they are going to give them away FREE! Consultants that sign up in August will receive one of these bags with their New Consultant Kit! (while supplies last, of course!)

This bag is water proof, has a shoulder strap, two straps to be able to carry it like a back pack, a large inside pocket that holds LOTS of papers! (more than 90 layouts! . . . ask me how I know that one!), two side pockets, and a front pocket as well. This bag has a retail value of $45 all by itself! And, since you weren’t at convention, the only way you can get it is to sign up to be a new consultant! Let me know if you are interested! I would love to have you join my team!

Happy Crafting!

Thanks & Goodbye

It’s been a busy month, and it’s not over yet! Senior Graduation, all night party, all the grad parties to put on and attend, end of school for the other kiddos for the year, plus all of the general everyday stuff . . . makes for a busy month! Anam over at twisted sketches has been so wonderful! She puts out some wonderful sketches for both cards and layouts! I always enjoy using them! After3 years of doing sketches, she has had to make the difficult decision to close Twisted Sketches. She will be leaving the blog up, and has even offered the sketches as a pdf download for you!

This last twist was ‘thanks’. What a fitting twist, don’t you think?

I used the Stella paper pack for my card, because I just love the lagoon colors! I used the AP cartridge to cut out the background mat. It kind of looks like a cloud behind the letters!

I used our pre embossed letters, and inked them with lagoon ink, so that they matched my card perfectly! Add some punched cardstock and some lace that was in a box, and you get this fabulous card!

Thanks so much Anam, for allowing me to be on your design team! I’ve had so much fun in the process!! I wish you much luck and good health!

May Stamp of the Month Blog Hop

Welcome to the May Stamp of the Month blog hop! There are more than 60 ladies participating in this blog hop, so make sure to make your rounds! You should have arrived here from Heather’s blog. If you ever get lost along the way, you can find the complete list of bloggers here.

Today I have 2 cards to share with you! And, believe it or not, both of these cards were made entirely from scraps! (well, minus the ribbon, that was straight off the spool!)

First I have this fun black/white/red version for you. Such a simple card, but I think it makes quite the little statement, don’t you?

I just stamped the largest image off the corner to give it a bit of a graphic look, added the red scraps, and attached to the card. The size of the card is 4 1/4 square.

The second card I again used the off the edge stamping to make these fun borders. I then added the ribbon, and cut out the flower. Then I added the ink for the flower (yeah, I know, that’s backwards), and added a fun popped center!

What do you think?

Next you are off to Karen’s blog! Have fun hopping along!

Art Philosophy Blog hop with Twisted Sketches

Welcome to Twisted Sketches Saturday and Art Philosophy Blog Hop Day!

I figured these are both so awesome, that I would combine them together! Twisted Sketches is a fantastic sketch challenge site, with a new card sketch every Saturday and a new layout sketch every Wednesday! LOTS of beautiful things on that blog every week!!

For the blog hop, you should have come from Wendy’s blog.

Today I combined some Lucy and some Footloose papers to make this fun baby shower card!

This is the inside of my little card. You can see the shape that I cut out with my AP cartridge, and the stamp that it fits perfectly!

To make this fun border under the zip strip, I actually used a few of the same shape to make the border! Then tied some of our baker’s twine around it.

And here is a close up shot of the new Keepsake felt alphabet stickers. They were so fun to use!

Here are some other fun things I have made with the Art Philosophy Cartridge! (Such a handy little thing!) Each photo will take you to the blog post with more photos.
